Recipient Charities submit applications and are selected each year
by the FNBMG Board of Directors

FNBMG proudly announces that since its inception, it has donated more than $150,000.00 to New Orleans based HIV & AIDS charities. Proceeds from the Mardi Gras GAGA Extravaganza XII were distributed to the following charities:


Belle Reve New Orleans
Works toward enhancing the quality of life, and promoting just and equitable access to care which are the founding principles of Belle Reve. Belle Reve provides permanent and transitional housing and supportive services to adults and families living with HIV/AIDS who are homeless of have no one to care for them.


Buzzy’s Boys and Girls – The William J. Fanning Foundation
Is completely dependent on donations and volunteers to carry on its work and operates
without any overhead expenses. All donations go directly toward helping those in need by providing prescription medicine, medical equipment and supplies, eyeglasses, personal items and clothing throughout the year.


Forum for Equality Foundation
Is an advocate of HIV education and funding and along with other HIV/AIDS service organizations, is sponsoring the upcoming HIV Awareness Music Project Fest and other events. FFE is dedicated to promoting the health and welfare of the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender population through lobbying efforts and education and information programs available to all.

Gay Easter Parade for Food for Friends - Ambush Magazine has spearheaded the enormous funds raised for the past 12 annual Gay Easter Parades to benefit Food for Friends, an agency that serves a 12-parish area in southeast Louisiana. Food for Friends delivers meals to those unable to prepare their own meals and operates a food pantry for those who do not have the resources to meet their nutritional needs.

LGBT Community Center of New Orleans
It is a Louisiana nonprofit corporation and is established as a 501C3 charitable organization. The center is an all volunteer organization and operates solely on the support of the community to serve the visitors to and residents of the greater New Orleans area.


NO/AIDS Task Force –
NO/AIDS Task Force - For over 28 years, NO/AIDS Task Force has provided hope, care and compassion to thousands of men, women and families affected by HIV & AIDS. The Task Force acknowledges that the complications of HIV-disease are not just physical, but mental, emotional and social as well. NO/AIDS offers a full spectrum of care at low to no cost, including services such as: an HIV medical clinic, food pantry, home delivered meals, housing, mental health, peer support and many others. NO/AIDS is committed to the health of the entire community and reaches over 20,000 each year through HIV prevention education efforts.


Project Lazarus
Is dedicated to provide to all people living with AIDS who can no longer live independently or whose family and friends can no longer care for them. The highest goal of Project Lazarus is to enhance the quality of life of those it serves. Project Lazarus continuously adds to the overall scope of care to its residents.

FNBMG always reserves the right to add additional grant recipients at a later date.
This possibility largely depends on revenues generated during
Extravaganza XIII on February 17, 2012.

2012 CHARITIES PROPOSAL SOLICITATION

AIDS and HIV service organizations interested in being considered for a FNBGM grant now
or in the future should send ALL GRANT APPLICATIONS NO LATER THAN THE FIRST DAY OF OCTOBER to fnbmg@cox.net.

The applications should provide the following information:

Name of Charity
Purpose, goal and mission of the Charity
How FNBMG grant funds will be used.
What promotional, advertising, ticket sales and other assistance will the requesting charity provide FNBMG in promoting the annual Extravaganza.
Explain how your Board of Directors, Staff and Volunteers will personally support the FNBMG Extravaganza.

On September 14, 2010, FNBMG Co-founder Ed Chapman presented a $500 check to Barbara Gaffney and
Marty Curtin of Buzzy’s Boys and Girls (The William J. Fanning Foundation)

 


On September 15, 2010, FNBMG Board Member Ron Issler presented a $500 check to Crystal Little,
Darrin Duplissey, Robert Gurtner and Andromeda Winters, all of the LGBT Community Center of New Orleans, Louisiana




On September 24, 2010, AIDSLaw of Louisiana representatives Gail Anderson and Stacy Morris
received a $500 check from FNBMG


On August 3, 2010, FNBMG President Billy Henry presented a $2,000 check to Project Lazarus Executive Direct,
Eric Oleson and Director of Development, Steve Rivera.


On March 31, 2010, FNBMG President Billy Henry presents a $2,800 check to Vicki Weeks, Executive Director of
Belle Reve New Orleans during the Grand Reopening of Belle Reve

 


In June 2010, Dr. Marc Behar, Forum for Equality Chair receives a $1,200 check from FNBMG Board members

During a May 2010 reception, FNBMG President Billy Henry presents a $6,800 check to Noel Twilbeck,
Chief Executive Officer of the NO/AIDS Task Force as FNBMG Board members Larry Gumpert and Larry Anderson look on

 


During the August 2010 meeting of the FNBMG Board of Directors, President Billy Henry presented FNBMG
checks totaling $9,800 to the charities selected as recipients. Receiving the grant checks were Noel Twilbeck,
CEO of NO/AIDS Task Force, and Stacy LaFleur, Executive Director of AIDS Law of Louisiana.


In 2011 the FNBMG Board of Directors presented checks totaling $18,500.00 to AIDSLaw of Louisiana, Belle Reve New Orleans, Buzzy’s Boys and Girls-The William J. Fanning Foundation, The Form for Equality Foundation, NO/AIDS Task Force-Food for Friends, Project Lazarus, and LGBT Community Center of New Orleans.
